Oil transportation via BTC through Turkey down

The volume of oil transported by Turkey’s BOTAS Internatıonal Limited (BIL) via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) stood at 19.368 million barrels in June 2019, as compared to 21.211 million barrels in the same period in 2018, Trend reports citing BOTAS data.

Reportedly, BIL transported a total of 120.818 million barrels of oil via BTC in January-June 2019.

The volume of transportation by BIL via BTC has also decreased month-on-month, as it dropped from 22.149 million barrels in May to 19.368 million barrels in June.

The data shows that the volume of oil transported by BIL via the pipeline stood at 255.770 million barrels as of 2018.

The total length of the BTC pipeline is 1,768 kilometers, 443 kilometers of which passes through Azerbaijan, 249 through Georgia and 1,076 through Turkey. Construction of the pipeline was commenced in April 2003, and the pipeline was filled with oil on May 18, 2005.
