Major Kazakh oil and gas company approves roadmap for digital transformation

Kazakhstan’s National Company KazMunayGas has approved the Roadmap for program of company’s digital transformation for 2019-2024, Trend reports with reference to the press office of the company.

The roadmap has been approved on August 16, 2019, during the meeting of the committee for modernization and transformation headed by the Chairman of the Management Board of KazMunayGas Alik Aidarbayev.

“The roadmap describes the deadline and the key results of the projects and events, which are a part of the portfolio of the company's program of digital transformation. It also includes a list of executives of KazMunayGas, who are responsible for proper execution of each project or event within the projected time frames,” the report said.

Furthermore, the portfolio includes a total of 14 projects and 14 events designed to implement transformation initiatives such as provision of occupational safety, high productivity culture, re-engineering of corporate and manufacturing business processes, implementation of new procurement model and digital solutions for business.

In addition, the results of the implementation of the optimized industrial planning at oil refineries of the company. Within the framework of the project, the automatized system of industrial planning on the basis of Spiral Plan software has been implemented at Atyrau refinery, Pavlodar Oil Chemistry Refinery, and at PetroKazakhstan Oil Products. The use of the mentioned above system allows to increase the depth of processing, decrease the volume of fuel used during manufacturing and raw materials losses, as well as operational expenses.

The approach to the risk management when realizing the projects of digital transformation has also been presented during the meeting. This approach is proactive and is designed for timely detection and decrease of negative effect of certain risks to reach the projects goals, such as deadline, cost, quality and content.
