Turkmen fuel&energy intends to attract foreign investments

A reporting meeting chaired by Turkmen Deputy Prime Minister Myratgeldi Meredov was held in Ashgabat, Trend reports referring to Turkmengas state concern.

The results of the Turkmen oil and gas industry over the past eight months of 2019 were discussed during the meeting.

Reports were made on the work to increase the production volumes at the plant producing gasoline from natural gas in Ovadandepe settlement, as well as on the prospects for developing Galkynysh and Dovletabat fields and attracting foreign investments in the oil and gas industry.

Heads of the Turkmengas and Turkmen Oil state concerns, Turkmengeology state corporation and the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries made the reports.

There is a need to continue the work on the implementation of the projects of modernizing the fuel and energy complex, including the work in the field of exploration and development of new oil and gas fields, processing of hydrocarbon raw materials and the production of finished products, the report said.

Top managers of the Turkmen fuel and energy complex spoke about the intensification of the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline (TAPI).

During the meeting, Meredov spoke about the technical and economic indicators achieved in the field of oil and gas condensate, natural and associated gas, as well as natural gas export. During the reporting period, the plan on oil refining was fulfilled by 103.7 percent, gasoline production - by 100 percent, diesel fuel - by 105 percent, lubricants - by 100 percent, and liquefied gas - by 104.7 percent .

Turkmenistan is one of the key suppliers of natural gas in the Caspian region, selling gas to China and Russia. The exploration work aimed at exploring the deep hydrocarbon deposits (up to seven kilometers) were resumed at the country's mining fields.

The promising oil and gas fields are being developed on the right bank of the Amu Darya River, in the Central Karakum, in the Turkmen sector and the coastal zone of the Caspian Sea. In total, about 200 fields have been discovered in Turkmenistan. Hundreds of oil and gas prospective structures have been prepared for deep drilling operations.

The search and exploration of deep-seated resources are underway in south-western Turkmenistan.
