The roadmap for life extension of oil fields is to be developed in Kazakhstan, Trend reports with reference to the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan Atameken.

The proposal has been made by Chairman of the Management Board of JSC National Company KazMunayGas Alik Aidarbayev during the meeting of the Committee of Oil and Gas Industry of Atameken.

Earlier, the issue of the increase of the oil recovery factor and the necessity to develop new oil fields was raised by President of Kazakhstan Kassym Jomart Tokayev during the expanded meeting of the oil and gas industry.

According to Aidarbayev, there are oil fields in Kazakhstan that require high costs for oil extraction and there are no other ways to stimulate the extraction. In his turn, the Chairman of the Committee Daniyar Abulgazin proposed to develop the roadmap before the end of 2020.

“We need to first and foremost implement a large scale inventory of oil reserves and to understand development of which fields should be stimulated. We also need to study the experience of Russian colleagues in the field of tax. I propose to finish the work before September 2020 and to submit the roadmap,” Abulgazin said.
