By Fakhri Vakilov -Trend:

For the first time in Uzbekistan, gas was received in pre-Jurassic deposits at the North Mubarek gas condensate field in the Kashkadarya region, Trend reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan.

The Russian company ERIELL Group received the gas inflow with a flow rate of 400,000 m3/day in the pre-Jurassic deposits.

The gas-bearing field was discovered as a result of drilling and development of well No. 53 of the North Mubarek deposit, and a productive layer was established in the pre-Jurassic deposits (weathering crust), which lie on the Paleozoic basis.

Currently, researchers have begun work to study the field characteristics of gas and condensate and its commercial properties.

In the future, similar deposits can also be detected at the South Mubarek, Shumak and Shurtepa fields. This gas-bearing facility is a pre-exploration site, at which prospecting and evaluation work continues.
