Iran's oil and energy industries require reforms, to move towards sustainable development, said the advisor to Iranian Minister of Energy Mohammad Fazeli, Trend reports.
"Local officials should be more efficient to support vulnerable classes," he said during the 5-th Iranian Petroleum and Energy Club Congress & Exhibition.
"Having effective connection with people in the oil industry is very important, adapting the system with this approach is the first step to sustainable development. Companies are obligated to provide annual reports in this regard," he added.
"The Ministry of Energy has established a center for social studies. The water and energy policy group, social economic water and energy group and the water and energy governance are subsidiaries in the center," he said.
"The final goal is to have balanced development in oil, water and power industries, if the directions are correct," he added.
