Azerbaijan ups natgas production y-o-y

Around 26 billion cubic meters of natural gas have been produced in Azerbaijan in the first nine months of 2019, Trend reports citing the country’s state oil company SOCAR.

This is while the country produced 22 billion cubic meters of natural gas in the same period of 2018.

As for the first quarter, the country produced more than 9.4 million tons of oil and 8.7 billion cubic meters of natural gas, according to the company data.

“This year 2.1 billion cubic meters of natural gas have been delivered to underground gas storage levelling the volume of gas reserved for the winter season to 2.9 billion cubic meters, while the filling of gas to the storages continues,” said SOCAR.

SOCAR is involved in exploring oil and gas fields, producing, processing, and transporting oil, gas, and gas condensate, marketing petroleum and petrochemical products in domestic and international markets, and supplying natural gas to industry and the public in Azerbaijan. Three production divisions, one oil refineries and one gas processing plant, a deep water platform fabrication yard, two trusts, one institution, and 23 subdivisions are operating as corporate entities under SOCAR.

SOCAR conducts various petroleum activities in countries such as Georgia, Turkey, Romania, Switzerland, Germany and Ukraine, including trading activities, mainly in Switzerland, Singapore and Nigeria.
