Russian Gazprom may conduct geological exploration at four investment blocks in Uzbekistan

Russian Gazprom PJSC multinational energy company is considering the possibility of geological exploration at four investment blocks in Uzbekistan, Trend reports referring to the press service of Uzbekneftegaz JSC.

Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan’s Uzbekneftegaz oil and gas company Bakhodir Sidikov discussed this issue with a delegation led by Managing Director of Gazprom EP International B.V. Andrey Fick.

By the end of November, Gazprom PJSC is expected to make a corporate decision to participate in geological exploration at the Chegara-Tagman investment block, and at the Chinibad, Uzunkuinsky and Kossorsky investment blocks in January 2020.

Moreover, the parties discussed prospects of joint projects for geological exploration on Bukhara-Khiva oil and gas region and West Ferghana investment blocks, the press service reported.

The parties also considered accelerating the preparation of a feasibility study for a project to develop the Jel field in the Ustyurt region under the terms of a production sharing agreement. The completion of the feasibility study is planned in July 2020.
