Turkmen delegation, Norwegian oil company hold talks

The Turkmen delegation met with head of Norwegian OMS company Agnar Forde in Oslo, Trend reports referring to the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.

The sides discussed the possibility of expanding the interaction between the Turkmen and Norwegian business structures having huge potential for mutual implementation.

The parties exchanged views on the issues of cooperation in such spheres as energy and its renewable sources, and the exchange of experience in the field of advanced technologies and innovations. Furthermore, regional and international agenda, including the situation in Central Asia and Afghanistan, was discussed.

Political consultations have been recently held between Turkmenistan and Norway. The Norwegian side was represented by Deputy Foreign Minister Audun Halvorsen.

The Norwegian companies have already expressed interest in the Turkmen oil and gas market, and StatoilHydro considered the possibility of participating in the development of the Turkmen shelf of the Caspian Sea.

In turn, Ashgabat is interested in Norway's experience in the field of modern technologies for the extraction of natural gas offshore and in remote areas.

The Turkmen side considers concluding the Production Sharing Agreements (PSA) through direct negotiations on the development of the capital-cost shelf of the Caspian Sea as a priority.
