A number of factors, namely, economic efficiency, the access to technologies and the access to financing, are required to achieve a result while introducing and using alternative energy sources in Azerbaijan, director of Eurasia Analytics consulting company Gulmira Rzayeva told Trend.
Rzayeva was commenting on the prospects of Azerbaijan’s transition to the renewable energy sources.
The director of the company stressed that a lot of attention has been paid to Azerbaijan’s transition to the use of renewable energy sources over the past two years.
"The Azerbaijani Ministry of Energy must accelerate the process of development and transition to renewable energy sources upon the presidential decree signed in May 2019," the expert said.
“At the initial stages, a long-term guarantee of the purchase of electricity and its using in the network, a stable tariff and involvement of the private sector, as well as other state support mechanisms will help to achieve success in the shortest period,” Rzayeva added.
