The equipment has been installed on 23 and 24B platforms in the Iranian part of South Pars gas field (this field is called as the North Dome field in Qatar), which is the joint field between Iran and Qatar, Acting Manager of the project for the development of the 22nd, 23rd and 24th phases of the field Ali Asgar Sadeghi said.
“The installation work was launched last week, but it was completed on Dec. 2 due to weather conditions,” Sadeghi added, Trend reports referring to the National Iranian Oil Company’s website.
“The weight of the equipment manufactured by the Iran Marine Industrial Company (Sadra) in Bushehr province is 710 tons. After the commissioning of both platforms, the daily gas production at the South Pars field will increase by 28.4 million cubic meters,” the acting manager said.
Presently, 28.4 million cubic meters of gas are produced daily on two platforms of the 22nd phase and 24A platform.
The South Pars Gas Field is a joint gas field between Iran and Qatar. The proven reserves have reached 51 trillion cubic meters of gas and it is possible to extract 36 trillion cubic meters of gas.
Presently, 630 million cubic meters of gas may be extracted from Iran's South Pars gas field daily.
After new platforms are commissioned at five phases (13, 14, 22, 23 and 24), gas production volume will increase up to 680 million cubic meters a day.
