The volume of oil products sold by STAR oil refinery of Azerbaijan state oil company SOCAR in the domestic market of Turkey in September 2019 amounted to 91,574 tons, Trend reports referring to website of Energy Market of Regulatory Authority of Turkey (EMRA).
During the reporting period, the share of STAR oil refinery products in the Turkish market was 3.48 percent.
From January through September 2019, this figure was 475,177 tons.
Crude oil imports from the SOCAR’s STAR oil refinery in September 2019 amounted to 696,317 tons.
On October 19, 2018, the opening of the SOCAR’s STAr oil refinery worth $6.3 billion took place in Izmir. The design capacity of the plant is 10 million tons, and SOCAR is the main supplier of raw materials for the enterprise.
The enterprise will reduce Turkey's dependence on imports of petrochemical products.
