TEHRAN, Iran, Dec.3
Trend:

Head of Iran Water and Power Resources Development Company Behrouz Moradi expressed hope that the Iran and Tajikistan would come to an agreement on the power plant soon.

Moradi made the remarks at a meeting with Tajik Energy Minister Osman Ali Osmanzadeh in Tehran, Trend reports citing IRNA.

Referring to the friendly and positive relations the two countries, Moradi said that major activities of the Iran water and power resources development company are related to structural and non-structural areas such as construction of dams and power plants.

He noted the design and deployment of flood warning systems, large dams, hydroelectric power plants and domestic production of micro power plants among the works carried out by the company in the country.

Commenting on the flood warning system, Moradi said that this system, by timely forecasting Iranian floods in Karun and Karkheh rivers, helped to prevent the occurrence of widespread floods in the country.

“The launch of the same system in Tajikistan will allow it to effectively manage and monitor floods,” he said.
