Iran's Shazand Petrochemical Company continues exports despite sanctions, price decline

TEHRAN, Iran, Dec.10

Trend:

Iran's Shazand Petrochemical Company should improve its sales in the CIS region, the company's official Mohammad-Reza Najafi told Trend.

"Despite some problems, the sales process is normal," Najafi said, referring to the issues of exporting petrochemical products in the first eight months of this Iranian year (began on March 21, 2019).

“Sales of Shazand petrochemicals may not have increased compared to last year, but they have not declined," Najafi said.

"The global rate of petrochemicals is declining, which effects sales, so the amount of revenue generated by sales either remains constant or decreases," he said.

"We expect to see a decline in petrochemical products sale, especially polymers in Turkey, by the end of the year,” said Najafi.

“Due to influx of low-priced American products into Turkey, conditions in Turkey have become unfavorable for us,” he said emphasizing the CIS region is more desirable for Iran.

"Unfortunately, the Persian Gulf countries are active in the petrochemical field, and according to their protocols, they work with their own companies," he said referring to Iranian Petrochemical export to Persian Gulf countries.
