Iran's Minister of Economic Affairs Farhad Dejpasand highlighted two points in the focus of the ministry's attention, including oil independent budget and increasing the tax revenues, Trend reports citing Fars News Agency.

“We need to focus on two main aspects to safeguard our economy, and one cutting the budget from oil. Unless this cut occurs, the government budget will always be vulnerable,” the minister said.

“Another aspect is to increase our other revenues. The best alternative revenue is tax revenue, which can lead to the sustainability of government resources. Tax revenues can grow positively and effectively, when production grows. That means increasing tax revenue without growing the production can have an adverse effect on the economy,” Dejpasand added.

“When an investor wants to invest, he or she needs to have a definite and positive outlook for twenty to thirty years. The investor should be able to obtain the permissions needed without restrictions,” Dejpasand said referring to the preconditions needed for investments.

“We need to provide the right conditions in the business environment. In fact, the growth of investment is the prelude to the growth of production and tax revenue. It is also important that the country should not be dependent on a particular commodity or group of commodities abroad,” the minister noted.

“Customs can also play a very important role. The customs must also support export production and making the environment more attractive to the investor,” said Dejpasand.
