Director of Bushehr oil products Distribution Company said that gasoline consumption in the province declined by 22 percent in the last 20 days of this Iranian month (started on November 22) compared to the previous month.

“During this period an average of 1,850 liters of gasoline was consumed daily in the province,” Massoud Niktaj said at a meeting in Bushehr province on Dec. 14, Trend reports citing IRNA.

The director added that during the same period, 200,000 cubic meters of CNG gas was consumed daily.

Niktaj noted that there are two gas distribution companies operating in the province, one of which is state-owned and the other is provincial.

The petrol subsidy reform plan went into force on November 15. Based on the plan, every car owner is authorized to buy 60 liters of gasoline per month at a price of 15,000 rials (35 cents). Any amount beyond that is sold at 30,000 rials (71 cents).
