Georgia increases gas transportation tariffs

The Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission (GNERC) has revised the tariff of natural gas transportation for gas transmission companies of the country, Trend reports referring to GNERC.

In particular, a tariff of 1.89 tetri (1 cent) per cubic meter of gas has been set for Georgian Gas Transportation Company. The new tariff will be valid from January 1, 2020, to December 31, 2022.

The previous tariff of the company, valid until December 31, 2019, is 1.87 tetri (1 cent) per cubic meter.

According to the commission, this decision will not affect the consumer gas tariff.

Starting January 1, 2019, Tbilisi Energy subscribers (formerly Kaztransgaz-Tbilisi) pay 46.13 tetri (16 cents) per cubic meter of gas, Sakorgazi JSC subscribers pay 50.02 tetri (18 cents).

In addition, the commission approved new tariffs for guaranteed capacity for thermal power plants with a validity period from January 1 to December 31, 2020.

According to the commission, this decision will not affect the consumer tariff for electricity.

Today in Tbilisi, the consumer electricity tariff for subscribers consuming up to 101 kWh per month is 14.54 tetri (5 cents). The tariff for subscribers consuming from 101 to 301 kWh is 18.55 tetri (6 cents). And for those who consume over 301 kWh the tariff reaches 23.03 tetri (8 cents).

The consumer tariff in the regions of Georgia for electricity for subscribers consuming up to 101 kWh is 14.23 tetri (5 cents). The tariff for subscribers consuming from 101 to 301 kWh is 18.21 tetri (6 cents). And for those who consume over 301 kWh the tariff reaches 22.73 tetri (8 cents).
