Iran is in final stages of oil pipeline construction from Goreh in Bushehr to Jask in Hormozgan province, said Managing Director of Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC) Toraj Dehghani.
"The design of oil pumps for Goreh – Jask project is in final phases while the process of molding and providing basic materials is ongoing," said Dehghani, Trend reports citing IRNA.
The National Iranian Oil Company signed a contract worth around $52 million with three local companies to supply 50 pumps for the pipeline project, according to the Iranian oil ministry.
The pipeline worth $1.8 billion is for transferring light, heavy and ultra-heavy crude oil from West Karoun region for storage and exports.
According to the National Iranian Oil Engineering and Construction Company's website the plan is to transfer 1 million barrels per day of crude oil from Goureh oil terminal in the northwest of Bushehr Province to the west of Jask region off the Sea of Oman.
"It is expected that pumps will be installed in stations by the next Iranian year (began March 21, 2020)," Dehghani said.
"Providing pipes for 1,000 kilometers is the main part of construction plan and we depend on domestic capacities," he added.
"The pipes are currently being manufactured and transported to the site where contractors waiting to install them," he said.
