Turkmenistan remains China's most important gas supplier

Over 300 billion cubic meters of natural gas were exported to China via the Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China (Central Asia–China gas pipeline) pipeline in 10 years, Trend reports referring to Turkmenistan’s Turkmengas State Concern.

Over 80 percent of the volume of gas supplies to China is provided by Turkmenistan, a source in the state concern said.

The gas pipeline includes A, B and C parallel lines which lie in the territory of Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and China. The length of each pipeline is 1,830 kilometers; their total throughput is 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year.

In accordance with intergovernmental agreements, after the launch of 4th line of the pipeline, the supply of natural gas from Turkmenistan to China will increase to 65 billion cubic meters per year.

The D line will be laid from the border of Turkmenistan through the territory of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. Its length will be about 1,000 kilometers, throughput 30 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
