Turkmenistan approves volumes of oil products for domestic consumption in 2020

Turkmenistan has approved volumes of oil products to be consumed in the country in 2020, Trend reports with reference to the relevant decree of the country's president.

The document was signed in order to ensure uninterrupted supply of oil products to institutions, enterprises, public associations, individual entrepreneurs and the population, as well as to fulfill tasks to ensure their rational use.

Various projects are being developed in the country to further increase the capacity of oil refineries in the cities of Turkmenbashi and Seydi.

Turkmenistan plans to increase the capacity of the oil refining industry to 30 million tons by 2030. At the current stage, the country annually produces approximately 10 million tons of oil, a significant part of which is refined at local enterprises.

Extraction of raw materials in the country is carried out by the Turkmennebit State Concern (Turkmenoil) and companies from the UK, Malaysia and the UAE operating in the country in accordance with production sharing agreements (PSA).
