Turkish company reveals volume of oil shipped through BTC pipeline

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Jan. 16

Turkish company Botas International Limited, providing the operation of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline, shipped 223.2 million barrels of oil, Trend reports referring to the company's statement.

The company shipped 3.3 billion barrels of oil from the Ceyhan oil terminal from June 2, 2006 through December 2019.

The total lengths of BTC oil pipeline is 1,768 kilometers, 443 km of which lay in Azerbaijan, 249 km in Georgia, 1,076 km in Turkey.

The construction of pipeline began in April 2003, and its filling with oil on May 18, 2005.

The shareholders of BTC, which was established on August 1, 2002 to implement the project, are BP (30.1 percent), AzBTC (25 percent), Chevron (8.9 percent), Statoil (8.71 percent), TPAO (6,53 percent), Eni (5 percent), Total (5 percent), Itochu (3.4 percent), Inpex (2.5 percent), CIECO (2.50 percent) and ONGC (2.36 percent).
