The Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC) transferred 254 million cubic meters of gas to the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) on Jan. 19, the ICOFC CEO Ramin Hatami said, Trend reports via the NIGC website.

Given that gas consumption in the country reached a record level on the previous day, 254 million cubic meters of gas were delivered for public and industrial use, Ramin Hatami said.

Some fields in Iran's Fars, Hormozgan and Ilam provinces, as well as the Khangiran Gas Field, located in the Sarakhs county of Razavi Khorasan province, are exploited by the ICOFC.

Currently, most of the gas consumed in Iran's northern and north-eastern provinces is supplied by the Khangiran Gas Field, thanks to the work carried out at the field in the last couple of years. Hatami said.

Earlier, gas was imported from Turkmenistan for these provinces, he added.

National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) Dispatching Director Mehdi Jamshidi said that the daily gas consumption reached 599 million cubic meters on Jan. 19 in Iran.

Meanwhile, the Managing Director of Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC) Mohammad Meshkinfam noted that the daily gas extraction reached 630 million cubic meters in the South Pars field.
