Iran launches granulated sulfur production in Isfahan

A solid sulfur production line (in the form of granules) was put into operation at the Isfahan Oil Refining Company’s plant in Iran’s Isfahan province, director of the production sector of the company Asgar Saberi said, according to the company's message.

“Some 300 tons of sulfur will be produced daily in compliance with environmental requirements,” Saberi added. “In accordance with demand, daily production may be increased up to 600 tons.”

“The solid sulfur production line was preliminary commissioned in the middle of last Iranian year,” the director said. “Presently, the production line has been operating at full capacity after removing potential malfunctions."

The director added that the construction of the production line cost 5.3 million euros.

The Isfahan oil refining company was commissioned in 1979. Presently, the plant processes over 375,000 barrels of oil daily.

The daily production of Euro-5 gasoline is 12 million liters, Euro-4 and Euro-5 diesel - two million liters.

After the commissioning of the diesel fuel filtration plant next Iranian year (from March 21, 2020 through March 21, 2021), daily production of Euro-5 diesel will reach 22 million liters.
