Uzbekistan increases renewable energy production

Uzbekistan reduced electricity generation by 1.3 percent in January through December 2019 compared to the same period of 2018, Trend reports citing State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
In the reporting period, according to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan, the country's enterprises generated about 61.64 billion kW / h of electricity.
In January through December, Uzbekistan produced 31.46 million Gcal of heat energy, which is 9.5 percent more compared to the same period of 2018.
According to Uzbek media outlets, in the next 10 years, Uzbekistan plans to build about 25 solar power plants.
It is expected that by 2025 the share of renewable energy sources in the structure of generating capacity will grow from 12.7 percent to 19.7 percent.
