Azerbaijan exported 1.491 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity last year, Trend reports Jan. 24 with reference to Azerbaijan’s Energy Ministry.
This indicator is 3.2 percent higher than that of the previous year (1.445 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity), according to the report.
As much as 218.6 million kilowatt-hours were delivered to Russia, 140 million kilowatt-hours to Georgia, 98.3 million kilowatt-hours to Turkey and 34.2 million kilowatt-hours of electricity to Iran.
Last year, Azerbaijan imported 137 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, which is 4.3 percent more than the import figure for 2018 (131.2 million kilowatt-hours of electricity).
As much as 90.8 million kilowatt-hours of electricity were imported from Russia, 34 million kilowatt-hours from Georgia and 12.1 million kilowatt-hours of electricity from Iran.
