Azerbaijan's Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery processed 6.1 million tons of oil from January through December 2019, which is by 104,000 tons more compared to the same period of 2018, Trend reports referring to the country’s Ministry of Energy.
The Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery, located in Baku, is one of the largest oil refineries in the South Caucasus and the only one in Azerbaijan.
The refinery's productivity is in the range of 4-6 million tons per year, with the prospect of increasing to 10 million tons per year.
Higher production volumes at the Heydar Aliyev refinery shall be achieved in 2025, when the project for modernization of the refinery, which began in 2015, will be completed.
