Iran's Shimibaft Petrochemical Company increases production, sales

The first plant of Shimibaft Petrochemical Company increased the production of methyl tert-butyl ether by two percent in Mahshahr county of Iran’s south-western Khuzestan province during nine months (March 21 – December 21, 2019) of this Iranian year compared to the same period of last Iranian year, Executive Director of the company Mohsun Shams said.

“As a result of exporting this product, foreign currency revenues increased by 34 percent,” Shams added, Trend reports referring to NIPNA.

“The company's total revenues increased by 54 percent while net profit - by 61 percent during the reporting period,” the executive director said. “The company produced more than 10,000 tons of methyl tert-butyl ether during the 10th month (December 21 - January 20).”

“The company’s domestic sale and export of the product increased by 559 tons,” Shams said. “Thus, the record fixed in 2017 (9,440 tons) was beaten. The company's second plant sold 352 tons of methyl ethyl ketone during the ninth month (November 22 - December 21).”

The company is located in the special petrochemical economic zone in Mahshahr county. The first plant was commissioned in 2002 while the second plant in 2006. Each plant may produce 45,000 tons of products per year.
