The Arvandan Oil and Gas Company, located in Khuzestan province in the southwest Iran, has laid the foundation of a new plant for the collection and sweetening of approximately 1.4 million cubic meters (50 million cubic feet) of flared gas, produced daily in the west of Karun River, Trend reports referring to the Shana News Agency of the Iranian Oil Ministry.
The plant will be built under the agreement between the Arvandan Oil and Gas Company and Kanaz Moshaver Engineering Company.
According to the agreement, the plant will be built within 18 months and will sell 1.41 million cubic meters of gas daily to the private sector.
In order to protect the environment, the accumulation of gas extracted from oil in Iran is in the spotlight of the Iranian Oil Ministry and the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC).
In total, there are 125 oil fields and 59 gas fields in Iran.
