SOCAR Georgia Gas expands pipeline network in Georgia

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb. 13

According to the Government of Georgia, SOCAR Georgia Gas, a subsidiary of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) in Georgia, plans to acquire pipelines in the areas of Dedoplis-Tskaro, Martvili, Khashuri, Chokhatauri and Zugdidi, Trend reports citing Georgian media.

For real estate, which will be transferred to the company in the form of direct sale, SOCAR Georgia Gas will pay 6.15 million lari ($2.1 million)

SOCAR Georgia Gas will begin payment in 2027.

The final payment deadline is December 31, 2036. These conditions were set out at the Georgian government order.

In 2007-2018, SOCAR invested over $1 billion in the Georgian economy.

SOCAR's activities in Georgia are carried out through SOCAR Georgia Petroleum, SOCAR Gas Export-Import, SOCAR Georgia Gas, SOCAR Georgia Gas Distribution, Kulevi Black Sea Terminal and other companies.

SOCAR Georgia Petroleum organizes the wholesale and retail sale of Azerbaijani oil products and third-party oil products in the Georgian market. The main activity of SOCAR Georgia Gas is to ensure the implementation of the gas supply program to Georgia.

SOCAR Georgia Gas supplies and distributes natural gas to the regions of Georgia and operates a local gas network with more than 670,000 subscribers. The main activity of SOCAR Gas Export-Import is the supply of natural gas to two groups of consumers - the population and production facilities.
