BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb. 26

By Elnur Baghishov - Trend:

Two types of equipment were produced by the Iranian Oil Terminals Company in partnership with two start-up companies at the Assaluyeh gas condensate terminal in the Iranian southern Bushehr city, Executive Director of the company Abbas Asadruz said.

“One type of the equipment is used to measure the quantity of products which are supplied to the plants and at the same time to control the quality of the products,” Asadruz added, Trend reports referring to the company’s website.

“Other equipment is designed for the opening and closing of valves in pipes in the oil, gas and petrochemical sectors,” the executive director added.

"The purpose of the design and production of the equipment is to put an end to Iran's dependence on foreign companies and to prevent spending huge money for this equipment," the executive director said.

“The company saved about 80 billion rials (about $1.9 million) as a result of the production of these two types of equipment,” Asadruz added.

In general, there are 125 oil fields and 59 gas fields in Iran. Iran's total hydrocarbon reserves reach 836 billion barrels. By using the technological equipment, 239 billion barrels may be extracted. Iran may use 29 percent of reserves while 71 percent remain underground.
