Uzbekistan reduces oil import & production

Uzbekistan has reduced imports of crude oil by 59.7 percent in 2019 in volume (compared to the 2018) to 183,400 tons, in value terms - by 63.3 percent to $95.8 million, Trend reports via Uzbek media.

In particular, in 2019 imports of crude oil from Turkmenistan decreased by 12.7 percent to 90,700 tons in volume, from Kazakhstan by 69.9 percent to 68,700 tons and from Kyrgyzstan by 51.2 percent to 23,900 tons.

At the same time, the weighted average price of oil purchased in Turkmenistan decreased by 10 percent to $599.32 per ton, in Kazakhstan - by 17.5 percent to $493.79, in Kyrgyzstan – by nine percent to $314.41.

In 2018, Uzbekistan increased imports of crude oil by 73.2 percent to 455,600 tons in volume compared to 2017, and by 2.2 times to $261.3 million in value.

In 2019, Uzbekistan's oil production fell by 6.3 percent to 698,600 tons compared to the previous year, gasoline production by 10.6 percent to 1.02 million tons and diesel production by 4.7 percent to 1.03 million tons.

Also, Uzbekneftegaz has reduced prices for diesel fuel in car filling stations since March 1 2020. In the nearest future the enterprise plans to sell high-quality gasoline of RON-95 brand in car filling stations of Uzbekistan.
