BAKU, Azerbaijan, Mar. 26

By Ilkin Seyfaddini – Trend:

Price for imported RON-92 gasoline was reduced in Uzbekistan by Uzbekneftegaz company, from 6,200 to 6,000 soum ($0.6) starting March 26, Trend reports citing Uzbekneftegaz press service.

Prices for other brands of gasoline and diesel fuel will also be gradually reduced, the message said.

"Uzbekneftegaz will lower gasoline prices first of all, taking into account the interests of consumers, as well as due to the reduction of gasoline costs at stock exchanges. As for pricing, it should be noted that the cost of diesel fuel sold through the network of UNG Petro gas stations is nine percent cheaper than the cost of diesel fuel sold to the population by foreign companies, and the cost of gasoline RON-92 is 16.6 percent cheaper," the company said.

Uzbekneftegaz organized sales of RON-92 gasoline and diesel fuel of European quality in the network of UNG gas stations. Since March 1, the cost of imported diesel fuel has also been reduced.

The national holding company Uzbekneftegaz is a state-owned holding company and the largest state company in Uzbekistan. The company ranks 11th in the world's natural gas production.

At the beginning of 2020, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting at which the head of state instructed Uzbekneftegaz to thoroughly analyze each field it is operating and ensure the increase in gas production.
