On the anonymous short-term segment of the trading platform of Balkan Gas Hub EAD, a “within day” product has been concluded with a price of BGN 24.50 BGN/ MWh, or 0.70 BGN less than the regulated price effective as of April 1, 2020, Trend reports citing Bulgartransgaz EAD.
It should be noted that the transaction price also includes the costs of access and transmission to the virtual trading point, which makes the price even more competitive than the regulated one.
At the same time, in the long-term non-anonymous segment, transactions with an “April 2020” product, with a total volume of 214 800 MWh were registered at a weighted average price of 23.95 BGN/ MWh, or 5 percent below the regulated price.
Balkan Gas Hub ЕAD was established by Bulgartransgaz EAD in January 2019 for the realization of the concept for establishment of a gas distribution hub on the territory of Bulgaria.
Balkan Gas Hub ЕAD operates trading platforms servicing the needs of the natural gas markets within the Balkan gas hub. In synergy with the physical infrastructure of the gas distribution hub, it provides the prerequisites required for establishment of the first, Bulgaria based, liquid physical and trading gas hub in the South Eastern Europe region.
