Iran's Chabahar Free Trade Zone to use foreign investment for manufacturing methanol

A plant will be built in the Chabahar Free Trade Zone of Sistan and Baluchestan province in southwestern Iran for the production of methanol with the investment of German company, Ahmad Jamali, deputy director of the Foreign Investment Office at the Organization for Investment, Economic and Technical Assistance of Iran, Trend reports citing Fars news agency.

According to Jamali, 400 million euros will be invested in the construction of the plant and the purchase of equipment.

The necessary licenses have been issued from the Organization for Investment, Economic and Technical Assistance of Iran, the Ministry of Petroleum and Echonomy and Free Trade Zone Organization of Iran.

"In addition, it was decided to operate a branch of foreign bank in the Chabahar Free Trade Zone. In this regard, a number of licenses were issued and the information was sent to the Central Bank of Iran for approval. This bank belongs to Great Britain, "he said.

The official further said that a printing cylinders plant will be built at the Anzali Free Trade Zone of Gilan province with the investment of 22 million yuan from the Chinese company.

Jamali said that $3 billion worth of trade licenses were issued in Iran's Free Trade Zone in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020) and $2.7 billion in products.
