By Elnur Baghishov – Trend:

As many as 7 solar panel stations have been commissioned in 3 villages of Kovsar county in in Ardabil Province (northwestern Iran), said Hossein Ghadimi, executive director of Ardabil Province Electric Energy Distribution Company, Trend reports citing the Ministry of Energy of Iran.

According to Ghadimi, these stations were built to increase jobs and save expenses of citizens on use of energy.

Ghadimi added that each loan of 500 million rials (about $11,900) has been issued for the construction of the stations, and the loans will be repaid at 4 percent, each separately.

The official said that the Ardabil Province Electric Energy Distribution Company plans to purchase electricity from these power plants for a period of 20 years. Thus, each kilowatt hour of electricity will cost 10,400 rials (about 24 cent).

Ghadimi said that each of these stations will produce 8,000 kilowatts of electricity per year. Thus, the revenues of each station will be 100 million rials (about $2,380).

“The solar panel stations are being installed in the villages of the province for the benefit of low-income families. These stations are being established in cooperation with Karafarin Bank and Ardabil Province Electric Energy Distribution Company,” he said.
