The draft “Memorandum of Understanding between the Turkey's Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and Azerbaijan's Ministry of Energy on the supply of natural gas from Turkey to Nakhchivan” is being considered in this direction.

In the near future, it is planned to complete negotiations on the approval of the project, she said.

In March 2020, Azerbaijan became the leader in gas exports to Turkey.

Earlier, the Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources told Trend that the construction of a gas pipeline from the Turkish Igdir province to Nakhchivan is a priority issue for Turkey and Azerbaijan.
