The Ilam Petrochemical Company in Ilam Province (western Iran) produced 960 tons of heavy polyethylene per day in the current Iranian year (began March 20, 2020), Executive Director of Ilam Petrochemical Company Hassan Najafi Semnani said, Trend reports citing the company’s website.
According to Najafi Semnani, this production was recorded by using an average of 38 tons of fuel per hour in company's plant .
Najafi Semnani added that the company's Olefin unit will be commissioned in the 4th month (June 21-July 21).
The director said that the Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) project will be implemented for the first time in Iran at the Ilam Petrochemical Company in order to protect the environment.
More than 3.5 percent Iran's oil reserves and more than 11 percent of gas reserves are in Ilam Province.
The Iran’s Ilam Petrochemical Company plans to put into operation an olefin phase. This phase will produce 750,000 tons of ethylene, propylene, pyrolysis gasoline per year.
At present, the company employs 2,190 people.
