Russia exported 137,563 tons of petroleum and petroleum oils to Georgia in a total amount of $54.1 million from January through May 2020, which is $25.1 million less compared to the same period last year, Trend reports referring to Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat).
In the reporting period, Russia exported 175,045 tons of wheat and meslin worth $39.3 million to Georgia, having increased the export by 57,975 tons. In January-May 2019, 117,070 tons of wheat and meslin totaling $26.1 million were exported from Russia to Georgia.
From January through April 2020, 65,331 tons maize worth $11.4 million was exported from Russia to Georgia.
During the reporting period, Russia exported 70,157 tons of petroleum gases and other gaseous hydrocarbons in the amount of $20.6 million to Georgia. During the same period last year, the export of petroleum gases and other gaseous from Russia to Georgia amounted to 39,413 tons totaling $11.6 million.
Meanwhile, Russia exported 13,374 tons of sunflower-seed, safflower or cotton-seed oil and fractions thereof worth $15.4 million to Georgia, which is 4,702 tons more compared to the same period last year.
Russia ranked second in Georgia’s commodity circulation during the reporting period.
From January through May 2020, the foreign trade turnover between Georgia and Russia exceeded $493.9 million, which comprises 11.7 percent of the total trade turnover of Georgia.
During the reporting period, Georgia exported products worth $157.10 million to the Russian market, which is 12.7 percent of total exports.
Meanwhile, Russian exported products worth $336.88 million to the Georgian market, which is 11.3 percent of total imports to Georgia.
