TEHRAN, Iran, June 29
Trend:

Iran's government has approved a quota of 450 million liters of diesel for export to be provided to border residents, according to which 1,500 liters of diesel are allocated annually to each border household.

The issue of fuel allocation to border residents has been discussed for many years, Trend reports citing IRNA.

On June 28, following the approval of the government and with the aim of improving the economic capacity of the residents of the border villages, the quota for fuel export was set.

According to this decision, from the beginning of the current Iranian year (started on March 20, 2020), the total quota of diesel allocated to the residents of border villages will be 450 million liters, 37.5 million liters a month.

Thus, the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company is obliged, on behalf of all border resident families, to export their diesel quotas and deposit 20 percent of the value in the designated account of Targeted Subsidies Organization.

In turn, the Targeted Subsidies Organization is obliged to deposit 80 percent of the resources to the accounts of the beneficiary families and deposit the rest 20 percent to the treasury.

The decision also aims to prevent smuggling fuel in border villages. As expected, the new policy will reduce the smuggling of petroleum products from the country and prevent the migration of border residents.
