Turkmenistan reveals volume of oil, gas reserves in Turkmen sector of Caspian Sea

The initial total resources in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea are currently estimated at 12.1 billion tons of oil and gas condensate, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Azerbaijan told Trend.

At the same time, the country's gas reserves in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea are estimated at 6.1 trillion cubic meters.

The embassy added that according to experts, the total geological reserves of Turkmenistan amount to 71.2 billion tons of conventional fuel, of which 53 billion tons are resource reserves of deposits on land, and 18.2 billion tons are located within the Turkmen sector the Caspian Sea.

In general, the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea is divided into 32 license blocks.

As reported, for 1H2020, the plan for oil and gas condensate production was exceeded by 7.6 percent, oil refining - by 2.6 percent, gasoline production – by 5.1 percent, diesel fuel – by 5.1 percent. The growth rate of liquefied gas production was exceeded by 12.2 percent.

Since recently, the country started introducing digital technologies in oil companies, as well as improving the production activities of concerns based on the fact that prices for hydrocarbon resources have fallen in the world.

Increasing the volume of local oil and gas production, maintaining high growth rates and investment activity in this area are the main tasks of Turkmenistan.
