Uzbekistan expands gas transmission infrastructure in Bukhara region

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 21

Uzbekneftegaz JSC conducts overhauls wells at Doya Khatun gas field in Karakul district of Uzbekistan’s Bukhara region, Trend reports citing Uzbekneftegaz press service.

Currently, the number of wells in Doya Khatun field is 62, of which 50 are in operation, two are undergoing workover and two are in the process of drilling.

“Some 664 million cubic meters of natural gas and 6,400 tons of gas condensate were produced from this field during the first half of 2020,. One well has been drilled and commissioned, and an additional 3 million cubic meters of natural gas and 4.2 tons of gas condensate have been received,” the message said.

Moreover, Uzbekneftegaz drilled and commissioned three wells with an additional 8.1 million cubic meters of natural gas and 269 tons of gas condensate.

Uzbekneftegas plans to produce 1.4 billion cubic meters of natural gas and 12,300 tons of gas condensate and to drill six more wells during 2020. In addition, 38.3 million cubic meters of natural gas and 960 tons of gas condensate will be produced from these wells.

In addition, Uzbekneftegaz plans to build a primary gas treatment plant and a booster compressor station, to increase natural gas production at the Doya Khatun field and ensure a stable gas supply.

Uzbekneftegaz is a state-owned holding company and the largest state company in Uzbekistan. The company ranks 11th in the world's natural gas production.
