Iran's Shazand Company starts to sell its products

Iran's Shazand (Imam Khomeini) Oil Refining Company in the Shazand county of Markazi Province has sold 1,100 tons of normal hexane products at the Iranian energy exchange (IRENEX), Executive Director of Shazand Oil Refining Company Gholamhossein Ramazanpour, Trend reports citing the company.

According to him, although the company's normal hexane product was put up for sale 26 times at the IRENEX during past 7 months, it was not sold.

Ramazanpour added that as a result of a number of necessary steps taken by the company, this product has already started to be sold.

The normal hexane product is a substance used in industry and the food industry.

The normal hexane plant of the Shazand Oil Refining Company was officially put into operation on June 25. The plant will produce 50,000 tons of normal hexane products a year. Till now, this product was imported to Iran, while the plant commissioning allows saving $30 million a year.

Iran's polymer and food industries need 30,000 tons of normal hexane a year for the production of grades.

The Shazand (Imam Khomeini) Oil Refining Company was launched in 1993 with the capacity to process 150,000 barrels of oil per day. The company currently processes more than 250,000 barrels of oil.

It also produces more than 17 million liters of gasoline and 12 million liters of diesel in accordance with the Euro 4 standard as well as 500 tons of propylene, 400 tons of granular sulfur and 2,000 tons of liquefied gas per day.

Iran's Shazand Oil Refining Company produced 3.8 billion liters of diesel and 136,000 tons of sulfur in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020).
