The transit of Turkmenistan's oil through Russia amounted to 1.3 million tons from January through June 2020, Trend reports with reference to Business Turkmenistan information portal.
The growth of Turkmen oil transit through Russia amounted 23.9 percent compared to 1H2019.
Oil production in Russia decreased by 6.5 percent from January through June compared to the same period last year, amounting to 304.33 million tons.
The volume of export of Turkmen oil to the countries outside the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) through the trunk oil pipeline of Russia’s Transneft PJSC amounted to 2 million tons in 2019.
It is planned to transport 488.5 million tons of oil via Transneft trunk oil pipelines in 2020.
Turkmenistan’s oil export through Russia renewed after a two-year hiatus at the beginning of 2019.
In general, about 10 million tons of oil are produced annually in Turkmenistan, the bulk of which is refined at local enterprises.
