The first phase of the 6-megawatt thermal power plant in Shiraz industrial park of the Fars Province (southwestern Iran) is ready for operation, said Mohammad Reza Mansouri Saba, deputy director of Shiraz Electricity Distribution Company, Trend reports citing Ministry of Energy of Iran.
According to Mansouri Saba, 4 megawatts of electricity will be produced during the first phase of the plant operations.
The deputy director noted that 400 billion rials (about $9.52 million) were spent on the construction of this thermal power plant which was built over 3 years.
"This thermal power plant was built in cooperation with the Shiraz Electricity Distribution Company and Shiraz Rad Farazan Energy Company," he said.
The deputy director emphasized that a total of 110 people will be employed at the thermal power plant.
