France reduces imports of oil and petroleum products from Azerbaijan

France imported 270,000 tons of oil and petroleum products from Azerbaijan from January through May 2020, as compared to 817,000 tons in the same period of 2019, Eurostat told Trend.

The country imported 85,000 tons in February and 185,000 tons in March. The country didn’t import oil and petroleum products from Azerbaijan in January, April and May 2020.

This is while in 2019, France imported 97,000 tons in January, 264,000 tons in February, 90,000 tons in March, 268,000 tons in April, 98, 000 tons in May, 98,000 tons in June, 95,000 tons in July, 189,000 tons in September, 90,000 tons in October and 84,000 tons in November.

Azerbaijan exported 19.5 million tons of oil from January through July 2020, which is 0.02 percent more compared to the same period of 2019, according to the statistical report of the State Customs Committee (SCC).

According to the report, the total volume of exports of petroleum products in the reporting period amounted to $6.3 billion, showing an annual decrease of 48.6 percent.

During seven months of 2020, the volume of exports of petroleum products amounted to almost 705,797 tons, which is 15.4 percent more compared to the same period of last year.

The volume of exports from Azerbaijan during the reporting period of this year totaled $9.1 billion, having shown a 33.6 percent drop year-on-year.
