Kazakhstan doubles crude oil exports to China in 1H2020

Kazakhstan exported 2.4 million tons of crude oil worth $915.8 million China in 1H2020, a source in the oil and gas market of Kazakhstan told Trend.

The volume of the exported crude oil was two times more than in 1H2019 (1.2 million tons), whereas the value of the exported crude oil was 1.5 times more than in 1H2019 ($609.2 million).

Kazakhstan has also exported 245.3 tons of petroleum products worth $259,400 to China during the reporting period of 2020, whereas last year no petroleum products were exported to China.

In turn, Kazakh crude oil exported to Japan stood at 783,754 tons worth $381.8 million, which is compared to 402,090 tons worth $211.2 million in 1H2019 (increase by 1.9 times in volume and by 1.8 times in value year-on-year).

During the reporting period Kazakhstan has also exported 39,907 tons of crude oil worth $15.04 million to Singapore, which is compared to 203,547 tons worth $94.7 million in 1H2019.

Furthermore, Kazakhstan has also exported 62,144 tons of crude oil worth $5.04 million to Malaysia in 1H2020, which indicates a significant decrease compared to 704,582 tons worth $368.9 million in 1H2019.

Kazakhstan’s overall export of crude stood at 33.3 million tons worth $15.08 billion in 1H2020 which is compared to 34.6 million tons worth $16.4 billion in 1H2019.

Kazakhstan’s overall export of petroleum products stood at 364,459 tons of products worth $1.04 million in 1H2020 which is compared to 574,297 tons worth $1.6 million in 1H2019.
