Another platform installed at Iran’s Naft Shahr oil field

The National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) has placed the next (3rd) drilling rig in the Iran-Iraq joint Naft Shahr oil field (this field is called Naft Khana in Iraq) in Kermanshah Province (western Iran), Director of Onshore-3 Drilling Operations at NIDC, said Gholam Reza Al-Mahmoud said, Trend reports citing the NIDC’s website.

According to Al-Mahmoud, the work will begin over the next few days, on well No. 25 via Fath 48 drilling rigs.

The director added that previously, the Fath 35 and Fath 81 drilling rigs were located on wells No.22 and 31 of the Naft Shahr oil field.

Al-Mahmoud noted that the work at well No. 22 is being finalized but at the well No.31 is underway.

“In total, one development well will be drilled and 4 wells will be repaired in the Naft Shahr oil field,” he said.

Iran's Naft Shahr oil field contains 692 million barrels of oil reserves. It is planned to increase the extraction from this field from 3,000 to 5,000 barrels per day.
