As many as 22 wells were drilled and put into operation at Oil Rocks in Azerbaijan in 2019, against the planned 23 wells,Trend reports with reference to Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR.
Two wells (#2579 and #2580) were drilled from the platform #2585 at Oil Rocks and were put into operation. The drilling works at this platform were completed on May 14, 2019.
Two wells (#2563 and #2564) were drilled and put into operation from the platform # 620a and the drilling works were completed at this platform on April 26, 2019.
Moreover, three wells (#2606 (the drilling started in 2018), #2607 and #2608) and additional two wells (#2451 and #2452) were drilled and put into operation from the platform #602a. The drilling works at the platform were completed on December 20, 2019.
The drilling of four wells (#1747, #1907, #1929 and #1920) started on May 21, 2019 and the wells were put into operation, while the drilling at the well #1948 continues from the third shaft due to geological complications.
Moreover, since it was not possible to complete the drilling of well #1948, the drilling of well #1980 was also postponed.
Seven wells and two of the three additional were drilled from the site # 1541a and were put into operation. Currently, drilling works underway at the well # 2662.
