A 1,000-ton platform has been installed in well No. 8 of the Iranian Offshore Oil Company's (IOOC) Hendijan oil field in the Persian Gulf, Trend report citing the IOOC’s official website.

According to the program, the platform will be installed in well No. 7 of the Hendijan field in the next Iranian week, the report said.

“It is forecasted that the extraction from the field will increase by 20,000 barrels per day with the launch of platforms in wells No.7 and 8,” the report noted.

The Hendijan oil field is located in the Persian Gulf in the Khuzestan Province (southwestern Iran). There are 9 wells in this field. The extracted oil is transported to the platform of the Bahragan oil field via 10 and 12-inch pipelines with a length of 10 kilometers.

The Hendijan field currently extracts 30,000 barrels of oil per day, and with the installation and launch of these platforms, the extraction from the field will increase to 50,000 barrels per day.

These platforms were developed by the Iranian Shipbuilding and Offshore Industries Company and the Atlas Offshore Company is operating as the main contractor and Sadra as the subcontractor in the installation of the platforms.
