Kulevi oil terminal enhancing developmental needs to meet technological needs

There are a lot of new projects implemented at the Kulevi oil terminal of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR and skilled, trained employees are always needed, Trend reports citing the terminal’s website.

“Even during the COVID - 19 pandemic situations, company has never failed in meeting the developmental needs of the employees. Currently, new technological projects being implemented at the terminal it is a must to have skilled employees especially those handling welding jobs. Accordingly, following all the rules, regulations and recommendations provided by the government a skill refreshing session for recertification was organized for the welders as the ongoing project requires highly skilled and qualified employees,” reads the message.

“The session was conducted for three categories of employees – Electric welders, electric welder and gas cutters and argon arc welders. The session was followed by valuation of the knowledge gained by each of the participant based on which each of them were certified as proficient in their job.”

The terminal in the Kulevi port was put into operation in May 2008, and the transshipment of oil products was launched in June. The total capacity of the terminal is 10 million tons of liquid bulk oil cargo per year, including three million tons of oil, three million tons of diesel fuel, and four million tons of fuel oil. The total capacity of the tank farm of the terminal is 402,000 cubic meters.

The terminal is used for shipment of crude oil, fuel oil, diesel fuel, gas oil, methanol, aviation fuel, propylene, liquid pyrolysis resin, naphtha, isopropyl alcohol, diesel fuel with ultra-low sulfur content, industrial oil, and condensate.
